Tucson

  1. Really impressive effect. I'm not sure if it is due to the lens or photoshopped but either way it looks great. The shallow depth of field is flawless of course. I think the rule of thirds works good here. Only recommendation is to get rid of the blurry dot on the top.

  2. The selective/differential focus in this photograph and the desolate environment captures the solitary figure in a compelling way. The “miniaturization” effect, blurred foreground and background, high contrast and high camera angle combine to produce a surreal feeling. These elements contribute to a narrative quality in the image. The “diminished” and isolated state of the model could be a metaphor implying that the person is viewed as merely a specimen trapped in a hostile environment. It could also imply that as society observes this person he or she is viewed to be of minimal importance.
    Note: Great job building your tilt-shift lens!

  3. thanks peoples! ulises: i have a tilt shift lens, hard to explain, but it lets you get this type of effect, and i have no clue what that dot is :)
